This year, Year 10 students were required to design a contemporary three-bedroom condominium styled lake view home for a small family in a new eco development project that is opening up in the lake district of the Gold Coast.

Future housing is expected to incorporate more sustainable and energy-efficient features, such as solar panels and green roofs. Smart home technology may also become more prevalent, allowing for greater control and automation of appliances and systems.

Vertical living, or building multi-story buildings, has several benefits in housing and cities. Another benefit of vertical living is that it's more energy-efficient and reduces the carbon footprint as compared to traditional horizontal living.

Larna, Kim, Ally, and Khloe are all students at Griffith University. Larna is pursuing a degree in education, Kim in law, Ally in business, and Khloe in English literature. Four young women between the ages of 19 and 25 wish to divide the cost of a Broadbeach, Gold Coast, share house. The women have decided on an L-shaped home to make the most of the land they have purchased. Kim has requested that privacy be a top priority, Ally and the other girls require their own study space, and Khloe has requested that the home be adequately insulated to keep it cool in Australia's climate.
